South Korean marines carried out regular live-fire artillery drills near the disputed maritime border with North Korea, the military said Wednesday, even as the Lee administration pushes to restore the “spirit” of an inter-Korean agreement that restricted such military activity.
The ROK Northwestern Islands Defense Command said its Sixth Marine Brigade and Yeonpyeong unit completed the “third-quarter live-fire training” without incident, firing about 170 rounds with K9 self-propelled howitzers and other weapons.
