The U.S. blacklisted North Korean and Russian nationals as well as Chinese firms on Wednesday for aiding the DPRK’s IT worker schemes, as part of a wider campaign with its East Asian allies to crack down on illicit activities supporting Pyongyang’s nuclear development.
The two individuals are Kim Ung Sun and Vitaliy Sergeyevich Andreyev, who played a role “in a fraudulent information technology (IT) worker scheme orchestrated” by the DPRK government, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) stated in a press release Wednesday.
