The top diplomats of the U.S. and South Korea have met for the first time since new President Lee Jae-myung took office, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to the complete denuclearization of North Korea and stronger trilateral cooperation with Japan.
“Our ironclad Alliance is vital to the shared prosperity of our nations, and to the safety, security, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific,” U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio wrote on social media after meeting with ROK foreign minister Cho Hyun in Washington on Thursday.
