RFA broadcasts targeting North Koreans go radio silent after Trump cuts

Radio Free Asia (RFA) has suspended its broadcasts targeting North Korean audiences and reporting on the country, as the Donald Trump administration’s budget cuts take their toll on the embattled outlet.

The website of RFA’s Korean service has not published any updates since July 3, and multiple current and former staff members have confirmed to NK News that the DPRK-facing radio channel is no longer operational either, cutting off a rare voice providing information about the outside world to residents of the isolated country.
