Kim Jong Un calls for ‘eliminating’ challenges to power in party ideology speech

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un delivered a speech on the importance of government officials obeying his orders and avoiding corruption during a visit to the Party Founding Museum in Pyongyang on Thursday, according to state media, vowing to “transform” the country within the next 10 years.

The visit comes as North Korea is preparing to hold a military parade, mass games, youth torch march and other large-scale events to reinforce ideological conformity and celebrate the official 80th founding anniversary of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) on Oct. 10.
