New York Giants players are basking in the glow of their first victory over the Philadelphia Eagles since the 2023 season.
Following the Giants’ 34-17 win over their NFC East rivals on Thursday Night Football, Kayvon Thibodeaux went on Speakeasy to say “f–k them Eagles.”
The Giants made life tough on Philadelphia throughout the game. They sacked Jalen Hurts three times, picked him off in the red zone early in the fourth quarter and held the Eagles to 73 total rushing yards.
On the other side of the ball, New York’s rookie duo of Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo introduced themselves to a national audience. Dart was efficient through the air, going 17-of-25 for 195 yards and one touchdown, while adding 58 yards and a score on the ground.
Skattebo ran for a career-high 98 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries against Philadelphia’s defense.
One year after being the envy of the NFL for how quickly they went about rebuilding their roster coming off a disastrous end to the 2023 season, the Eagles are starting to find themselves moving back into the role of a punching bag.
Thursday marked the second time the Eagles lost in the span of four days. Their 10-game winning streak was snapped on Sunday by blowing a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter to the Denver Broncos.
On top of the recent results on the field, there is also the apparent disconnect between Hurts and A.J. Brown that has been bubbling up lately. Eagles players are also struggling to find answers for why the offense is struggling.
Even though the Eagles are still in first place in the NFC East with a 4-2 record, this is as vulnerable as they have looked since the end of 2023.
Thibodeaux, who entered the NFL in 2022, had one just one win in four games against the Eagles going into Thursday night. He is clearly enjoying this opportunity to bask in a victory over them after one of the most dominant Giants wins in recent memory.
