A Belarusian model fighting against his deportation from Hong Kong has been handed a suspended jail sentence for the drunken assault of two police officers following a domestic dispute.

Eastern Court on Tuesday sentenced Aliaksandr Buka to six weeks’ imprisonment, but suspended the term for 18 months after the 25-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts of assaulting a police officer.

The court heard police officers were dispatched to a high-rise residential flat in the Mid-Levels on the evening of August 30 this year in response to a report made by Buka’s girlfriend after an argument between the couple.

During the police inquiry, Buka, who appeared drunk, suddenly pushed a constable, grabbed him by the uniform and knocked him onto a bed.

When another officer attempted to restrain Buka with pepper spray, it had little effect, as the model then struck the constable four times on the back of the head.

The defendant also assaulted a third officer before being subdued and arrested.
