A record number of Russian visitors entered North Korea in the third quarter on the back of surging tourism, according to newly released official data, even as Moscow once again shied away from disclosing how many DPRK nationals entered the country.
Russian entries into the DPRK from July to September totaled 3,460, the Federal Security Service (FSB) reported on Thursday. That’s up from 2,772 border crossings in the previous three-month period and marks the highest quarterly tally since 2010, the earliest year for which data is available.
