Lilly Pulitzer fans can now find a collaborative line with Dee Ocleppo Hilfiger.
As a familiar face in and around Palm Beach, she knows the area and the brand’s preferred pastel color palette well. Ocleppo Hilfiger, who is the creative director of Judith Leiber Couture, has created a nine-piece limited-run capsule collection that plays up Palm Beach’s glam factor. Shoppers will find two prints, the first one being “Sunny Dee” in Conch Shell Pink and Salt Pond Blue with motifs that are inspired by the island life including alligators, flamingo, and martinis. The second option is “Dee Lightful,” which reimagines Pulitzer’s classic motif with crisp, white-grounded scenes, grosgrain ribbons, and the brand’s signature lace.
Her total assortment, which consists of eight women’s styles and one for men, is now offered at the Lilly Pulitzer online store, as well as in the company’s boutiques and in select stores nationwide. Retail prices range from $198 to $458 save for one top-notch item. The designer has served up a couture touch with an exclusive Judith Leiber Couture Fizzoni Full-Beaded clutch in Sunny Dee’s Conch Shell Pink at $1,995, but only 50 were made to amp up the exclusivity.
Both parties share an appreciation for their Palm Beach roots and have a mutual admiration for one another, according to a Lilly Pulitzer spokesperson. Although Palm Beach is the home base for Ocleppo Hilfiger and her husband Tommy Hilfiger, New York remains important for business and creative projects, the spokesperson said.
She also is said to have an affinity for the preppy brand that she grew up wearing. The designer worked closely with the company’s in-house Print Studio for the design partnership. A preview event is planned for Wednesday in the renovated Lily Pulitzer flagship on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach. The brand is looking into finding fun ways for her to continue popping up in Lilly Pulitzer stores, according to the spokesperson.
