North Korea’s top diplomat has denounced the Group of Seven (G7) industrialized nations for continuing to insist on the goal of denuclearization, accusing the bloc of “double-standard behavior” for seeking Pyongyang’s disarmament even though most of its members possess nuclear weapons.

In a statement published by the state-owned Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Friday, DPRK foreign minister Choe Son Hui criticized a joint statement issued by the G7 foreign ministers on Wednesday, in which the multilateral grouping reaffirmed its commitment to the “complete denuclearization of the DPRK.”
