The South Korean military said it responded to a North Korean “violation of the Armistice Agreement” in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), following reports of an intrusion on Thursday.

The ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) confirmed to NK News on Friday its forces “took action in accordance with prescribed procedures after North Korean troops committed a violation of the Armistice Agreement inside the DMZ,” but did not disclose when the breach occurred or what specific activity triggered the response.
