Lily Collins leaned fully into McQueen’s country check tailoring in Paris on Sunday.

The “Emily in Paris” star left her hotel in a three-piece suit from the label’s Country Check line, built around the high-rise wool straight pants, Country Check waistcoat and matching single-breasted jacket. The wool jacket had padded shoulders and notch lapels, falling just past the hips, while her matching waistcoat underneath cut straight across the chest and closed with a row of gold metal buttons. Collins’ high-rise trousers followed in a relaxed straight leg with enough length to cover most of her glossy pointed-toe pumps. The check ran through each piece: a muted brown prince of Wales pattern picked out with fine red and black lines.

Accessories stayed sharp and simple. She carried a black leather clutch with a folded body and visible zipper hardware at the side. Small hoop earrings and a few slim rings finished the look, while her chin-length bob and soft pink lip color kept the beauty styling minimal.

McQueen showed the a similarly patterned waistcoat and country check suiting on the spring 2025 runway, where it appeared with a matching skirt trimmed in ruffles. In her review of that collection for WWD, Booth Moore described Seán McGirr’s second outing for the house as a more solid follow-up that reconnected with brand codes including Savile Row tailoring, wild nature and London underworld characters, and noted that the lineup delivered “commercial” tailoring and shirting intended as core product. She also relayed one attendee’s verdict leaving the venue: “We’re back in business.”

Collins has already spent the week moving between archival and runway fashion as she promotes Season Five of “Emily in Paris.” Earlier in New York, the Calvin Klein spring 2025 campaign star wore a sheer number from Fendi’s fall 1997 collection for “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” followed by a vintage Roberto Cavalli giraffe-print coat and woven stiletto sandals later that day. The McQueen country check suit adds precise plaid tailoring to that press-run lineup as Collins continues the lead-up to the show’s return on Netflix on Dec. 18.
