A young dolphin off the east coast of Australia has been rescued after it became entangled in a piece of fishing line.
The mother and calf were spotted by locals in late September near Forster in New South Wales, with the calf’s swimming noticeably impeded by the entanglement.
After ongoing sightings in the area, the Sea World Foundation put together a team that was able to successfully capture and disentangle the young dolphin.
Head veterinarian Dr Claire Madden is confident the calf will make a full recovery.
