Happy Emma Stone press tour to all who celebrate!
The Oscar winner is kicking off promotion for her new Yorgos Lanthimos film, Bugonia, in New York today, where she mixed summer and fall trends. Stone kept butter yellow afloat in a crewneck Khaite sweater, which she paired with an off-white, lace-trimmed midi skirt. Stone embraced the crisp fall weather, adding a classic trench coat atop her thick sweater and lightweight skirt.
While she played it safe with a Louis Vuitton monogram shoulder bag and oversized cateye sunglasses, Stone dipped a toe into subversion with her footwear choice. She opted for a pair of pointy-toe pumps, fastened with an ankle strap. But instead of a classic leather or satin, Stone’s shoes were fashioned in brown mesh.
Though mesh flats have been around for a while, the heel takes the diaphanous look in a sexier, almost perverted, direction—certainly appropriate for a woman who won her second Academy Award portraying the adventurous Bella Baxter. While it’s not as freaky as, say, the articulated toes of a Vibram toe shoe, or even a split-toe of a Tabi, Emma Stone is showing the curious how to microdose a freaky shoe this fall.
