A former North Korean soldier living in the South is seeking to return to the DPRK through Russia or China, after Seoul blocked his attempt to cross the inter-Korean border earlier this year.

At a press conference on Thursday, 95-year-old former prisoner of war Ahn Hak-sop called on the ROK government to arrange his repatriation through a third country, lamenting that the Lee administration has yet to respond despite his public request for repatriation over three months ago.
