Hong Kong’s weather forecaster has further downgraded the typhoon warning signal to No 1 as Tropical Storm Ragasa continues to move away after wreaking havoc in the city.
Education authorities also announced on Thursday that afternoon kindergarten classes would resume, while morning classes remained suspended.
The Hong Kong Observatory lowered the No 3 signal to No 1 at 8.20am, but warned that local winds were still occasionally strong offshore and on high ground.
It said that there would still be occasional squally showers, some heavy in certain areas, along with thunderstorms.

Ragasa, which was downgraded from super typhoon to tropical storm, triggered the highest-level No 10 hurricane warning for nearly 11 hours.
