Party season is well and truly on the horizon—and Kate Middleton, for one, looks ready. The Princess of Wales arrived at the Royal Albert Hall for the Royal Variety Performance on Wednesday night, wearing a form-fitting velvet dress in an impossibly festive shade of green.

After forgoing last year’s ceremony while recovering from chemotherapy treatment, the Princess made her traditional appearance at the Royal Variety Performance alongside her husband, Prince William. Carrying a glittering clutch to echo her diamond chandelier earrings, and with her signature blow-dried waves tumbling over her shoulders, Kate’s look perfectly reflects the season’s glamorous mood.

As the name suggests, the Firm has long had an association with—and affection for—the Royal Variety Performance: the late Queen Elizabeth famously met the Spice Girls at the event back in 1997, and rubbed shoulders with One Direction in 2012.

A melting pot of the brightest and buzziest talent in entertainment, the event has borne witness to performances from the likes of Cher and Shirley Bassey over the years, and the Princess of Wales has been a regular fixture since her first appearance at the event in 2014. Over the years, she has worn an array of designers from Diane von Furstenberg and Alexander McQueen, memorably sporting a royal-blue Safiyaa gown, complete with cape-style sleeves, for her last appearance in 2023.
