North Korean leader Kim Jong Un inspected the nearly completed Kangdong County Hospital on Thursday, according to state media, touting it as a model for the country’s health care system under his plans to build new hospitals in 20 each year.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Friday that Kim visited the hospital site on Oct. 30 alongside senior party secretary Jo Yong Won. The report described the facility, located in Kangdong County on the northeastern outskirts of Pyongyang, as “nearing completion.”
