Man found dead in Hong Kong flat after worried relative calls police

A middle-aged man has been found dead in a public housing flat in northwestern Hong Kong.

Police said on Friday that they received a report at around 3pm from a family member who suspected the man had collapsed at his home at Ching Tin Estate in Tuen Mun.

Officers went to the flat in Ching Sum House and found the man, 63, lying unresponsive in a room. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy would be carried out to find the cause of death, the police force said.

The man had reportedly been absent from work for some time, and his relative had gone to his home.

The man’s disabled wife was found in the flat and taken to Tuen Mun Hospital for an examination.
