A U.N.-sanctioned North Korean pharmaceutical company known for peddling dubious cure-all remedies has registered its brand in Russia, one of several DPRK firms that have moved to enter the neighboring market in recent months, according to an NK News analysis of Russian patent documents.

North Korea’s Pugang Pharmaceutical Company in February filed a trademark application to register its anti-thrombosis drug Royal Blood-Fresh in Russia, according to the intellectual property watchdog Rospatent. A Moscow entrepreneur attempted to import the drug earlier that month.
