Shohei Ohtani, Dodgers Beat Brewers in G3, Overwhelm MLB Fans While Nearing NLCS Sweep

Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers secured a Game 3 National League Championship Series victory over the Milwaukee Brewers with a 3–1 victory at home on Thursday.

With the win, the Dodgers took a 3-0 series lead in the NLCS with just one more needed to secure their trip to the back-to-back World Series as they look to repeat a championship.

Ohtani went 1-for-4 at the plate and scored a run, while Mookie Betts drove in one on a 1-for-4 performance. Tommy Edman also contributed a RBI.

Los Angeles ace Tyler Glasnow set the tone early with a dominant outing, striking out eight over 5.2 innings while allowing just three hits and one earned run to maintain a 0.68 ERA.

With their Game 3 win and a chance to complete a series sweep at home Friday, the Dodgers’ dominant NLCS run has fans focused on the possibility of a World Series repeat.

Betts opened the scoring in the first inning with a double to right that drove in Ohtani, who tripled, energizing the home crowd with an early run off Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski.

Milwaukee’s Jake Bauers quickly answered in the top of the second with a RBI single to even the score and quiet the crowd.

The Dodgers caught fire in the sixth when Edman singled to bring in Will Smith, and a costly pickoff error by Abner Uribe allowed Freeman to score easily from third and take a 3-1 lead.

Roki Sasaki closed out the game for the Dodgers, blanking the Brewers with a hitless ninth inning, highlighted by an incredible throw from Betts that saved a hit.

While the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers clash in the National League, the Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays are locked in an American League showdown to decide who moves on to the World Series. Seattle currently leads the series 2-1.

Game 4 of the NLCS will stay in Los Angeles on Friday, with first pitch scheduled for 8:38 p.m. ET.
