When does festive season officially kick off? When does your tree go up, the presents come in? The jury is out—but among the best dressed stars in the world of celebritydom, jingle bells are ringing, and frocks are shimmering.
This week, the stars embraced the forthcoming festivities in both sumptuous satins and eye-catching sequins. While many looked to classic silhouettes, it was in their intricate finishings, fun textures, and considered spins of the color wheel that things hit on a seasonal sense of sartorial joy.
Take Anya Taylor-Joy, heading to party with Tiffany & Co. in a white corseted Dilara Findikoglu mini-dress with lace accents that elevated the LWD. Elle Fanning—styled by Samantha McMillen—who delighted in sky blue and bouquet-printed Rodarte, with a swishy matching scarf an elegant and dynamic detail. A pink and sparkly good witch Ariana Grande (dressed by Law Roach) stepped out for a night at the Singapore premiere of Wicked: For Good, debuting Balenciaga designer Pierpaolo Piccioli’s first custom couture offering. The gown’s shifting sizes of sequin created an affect not unlike Glinda’s traveling orb. Rosamund Pike opted for Jonathan Anderson’s Dior Couture for the Now You See Me: Now You Don’t premiere: a drop-waisted, fluid cowl-necked gown in a buttery shade of yellow with frosted white leafy sprigs adorning the mid-hemline.
Next came Demi Moore—styled by Brad Goreski—who opted for an ultra-sheer, clingy black lace Gucci gown that proves there’s still more to give to the naked dress phenom. Olivia Rodrigo attended the GQ Men of the Year awards and kept it cool and classic in Tom Ford: a minimal dress silhouette, leveled up with blue shimmer. A-listers are hitting the holiday party circuit hard with their fashions—where do we go from here? It’s all to play for among the best dressed!
