I just went back and counted and this is the 12th time I’ve been at my keyboard watching the sales during one version of Amazon Prime Day or another. And after I hit five or six of them, I could start recognizing patterns around what kinds of items will be on sale and for how much. This fall’s iteration Amazon’s self-created sales event though, doesn’t have all the same normal players at this point on Tuesday morning. The Zojirushi rice cookers we love don’t have their same 33% discount, neither do most of our preferred pieces of Greenpan cookware.
What there are though, are a lot of deals on coffee gear of all kinds. If you want simple drip coffee, hands-on methods like Aeropress or French press, or a new espresso machine, there are heavy discounts on everything you need for a whole new coffee set up.
The coffee deals really are the best ones going right now
Fellow coffee deals
The Fellow discounts are particularly notable here because they were one of the companies that was very up front earlier in the year that American tariffs were going to force them to raise their prices. But, at least for the moment, Fellow stans looking to expand their collection, or just the Fellow curious who want to know why we keep picking their gear as our favorite, can discounts that are actually lower than the pre-tarrif pricing from the beginning of the year. The Aiden is the best brewer we’ve ever used, their family of grinders both offer quality that outpaces their price in our opinion, and their scale and kettles make pour-over a joy to brew.
Espresso maker deals
As ever it’s Breville espresso makers FTW during Prime Day, with discounts across at least half of the machines they offer. But there are deals on other machines too, like a prosumer model from Rancilio and our favorite super automatic machine (the kind that goes from whole coffee beans to cappuccino with one button push) from Bosch.
Drip coffee maker deals
Beyond the Fellow Aiden there are a bunch of other good coffee makers on sale. Technivorm’s Moccamaster, the original fancy coffee maker, is heavily discounted as are some good budget machines from Braun and Zojirushi.
Coffee grinder deals
I think the best deals to be had are probably the two Fellow grinders, but there are a couple other worth looking at from Breville and, if you really need to feel your coffee beans, a good manual grinder from Timemore (great for travel!)
Deals on other coffee equipment
A French press seems like it should be a simple thing, and yet we had issues with a lot of them. The presses from Espro though have the best filter system we’ve come across, completely separating the coffee grounds from the brewed coffee. That also means you can get more mileage out of the insulated carafes that come with them. With lesser filter systems ground coffee keeps mixing with the brewed coffee and it gets overextracted and bitter if you leave it for too long. But with the Espro you can actually let your coffee set in the carafe and stay hot in between cups.
It’s not the only manual brewer on sale, but it’s definitely our favorite one.
