UNESCO, the U.N. agency devoted to cultural projects, is willing to assist Seoul in inviting North Korea to next year’s World Heritage Committee convention in Busan, according to the head of South Korea’s cultural heritage preservation agency. 

“The UNESCO director-general and the head of the UNESCO World Heritage Center have expressed their willingness to actively cooperate on the discussion,” Korea Heritage Service chief Huh Min said in response to a question about the possibility during a press briefing Wednesday.
