The U.S., South Korea and Japan will hold their first Freedom Edge exercise under the Lee Jae-myung administration later this month to counter North Korea’s nuclear and missile threats, the ROK military announced Friday.
South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) stated in a press release that the three countries will conduct the third iteration of the multi-domain drills from Sept. 15 to 19 in international waters southeast of Jeju Island. The exercise will cover multi-domain operations in the maritime, air and cyber fronts, according to the military.
