Has it been that long? Marking John Lewis’s first menswear collaboration in over 10 years, the department store group has teamed up with Labrum to create an expansive collection for autumn.

Blending Labrum London’s “daring design signatures” with John Lewis’s seasonal staples, the range was created by the former’s founder & creative director Foday Dumbuya, and the latter’s in-house design team.

The expansive (38-piece) range is inspired by “a fusion of cultures, combining the bold patterns and vibrant textiles of West Africa with contemporary British colour and silhouettes”.

They said modern design “drives the collection, with texture, placement prints and utility details featured across the range”.

It includes a traditional autumnal palette of inky navy and warm brown is lifted with mustard yellow, burnt orange and soft neutrals. Premium fabrics are used throughout including lambswool, cotton merino cashmere and leather.

Priced up to £369 for a leather jacket it will feature in five John Lewis stores and online.

But there’s a further element to the launch. In Labrum’s year billed  as ‘The Sound of Us’ “where cultural identity, migration, and the unifying power of music are celebrated”,  Bowers & Wilkins were invited to be a supporting partner “to help bring to life the unifying force of music”, with the integration of its new Px8 S2 wireless headphones.

Dumbuya said: “When we first met the John Lewis team in Paris last year, I was inspired by the potential to weave our two brands together. Our shared passion for storytelling, a celebration of the UK’s diversity, and a love for textiles created a beautiful synergy.”

“This collection… embodies our signature elements — like the Nomoli logo and intricate jacquard fabrics — ensuring it resonates as an authentic representation of Labrum, reimagined through the John Lewis lens.”
